Emergency Contacts, Resources and Information

Police, Fire Department or Medical Emergency

For emergencies like crime in progress, fire or smoke, or if you need an ambulance, dial 911.

To reach Fairfax County Police when it's not an emergency, call the non-emergency number, 703-691-2131.

Gas Leaks

If you smell natural gas within your home, do not attempt to locate the source of the odor. Leave immediately, keeping the door open, and go to a neighbor's house or use your cell phone once you clear the property and call 911. They will inform Washington Gas. Any time you suspect a natural gas leak and are unsure of its severity or what to do, evacuate the area immediately and call 911 from a safe location.

If you smell natural gas outside of your home, call the Washington Gas Emergency Leak Line at (703) 750-1400 or 1-800-752-7520.
